Description

NGC4725 is a one-armed spiral galaxy. It's over a thousand light years across and more than 41 million light years away. It boggles my mind to think how far (distance and time) those photons have been traveling.

The nearly 28 hours of data was acquired this year from May 4th through May 17th.

The image consists of the following subframes:

Luminance 43 x 600 secs

Red 32 x 600 secs

Green 33 x 600 secs

Blue 29 x 600 secs

Ha 10 x 1800 secs

I primarily used Pixinsight for processing with a little Photoshop thrown in for blending the Ha and final image tweaks.
